Spencer Seeks to Regulate Speech his Friends Find Offensive

Proposed Ordinance No Freedom of Speech

Brian Spencer announced late Sunday evening that he would propose an Anti-Stamp Collector Bashing Ordinance, also known as The Philatelist Protection Order. Spencer said “it is unacceptable in our society to say anything critical about stamp collecting”. He went on to explain that it isn’t just prohibiting what people could say, the ordinance will be worded to prohibit any sneering intonations. For example, Spencer stated if a person said someone from North Hill was a stamp collector, the implication would be obvious and trigger the ordinance. First offenders would be fined. Second offenders would be jailed.

A spokesperson for the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) said they continue to marvel at Spencer’s championing of limiting free speech, long a goal of the ACLU.
